Salem’s Al Fresco Dinner
The Salem Courthouse Community Center is excitedly planning their annual Al Fresco dinner, and you can almost feel the magic in the air! The menu is finalized and the dinner items are being sourced. The tickets are in house and will go on sale Monday, June 6. There is still much to accomplish, but the dedicated volunteers have their lists in hand, and the planning is under control. Some featured highlights of the evening will include the music provided by the popular Roadhouse Rhythm and Blues Band; the artwork of Leslie Peck in the Great Hall; three new pieces of sculpture shared by Salem Art Works; the fanciful characters of the Mettawee River Theater Company floating around; and a glorious selection of artisan cheeses offered prior to the seating for dinner.
The CCC likes to promote Al Fresco by saying that it’s “a celebration of all the good this area has to offer.” Nowhere is that good more evident than in the 200 or so volunteers who make it all possible: Being the most important fundraiser for the Courthouse each year, the proceeds from this event help support the operating needs of the nonprofit organization not provided by grants.
