Jason Groark, soccer coach at Salem Central, is pleased to announce that the 2013 Girls Varsity Soccer team has qualified to receive the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s Scholar/Athlete Team Award. To qualify for this award the soccer team had to have a minimum of 12 girls with a cumulative average of 90 or better for the first marking period of the 2013-14 school year.

Coach Groark said, “Each member of this team has shown an incredible work ethic in order to maintain such a high academic standard in addition to the many hours of soccer practice each week. The self discipline and desire to succeed will serve these girls well into their future.”

Each member of the Scholar Athlete Team has received a certificate and pin from the NYSPHSA in recognition of the team’s academic success. The Lady Generals would like to thank the school, community and their parents for all the support they were given this year.
