Sculptures on Display in Salem
The Courthouse Community Center in Salem, N.Y., is once again showcasing three large sculptures on its side lawn. Several years ago, Salem Art Work’s founder, Anthony Cafritz, approached the CCC with the offer to share their artwork, thereby gaining a larger audience, promoting his belief that art is not an option, but a necessity. This year’s sculptures were chosen by SAW’s artist program coordinator and curator, Jenny Hillenbrand, with CCC’s executive director, Donna Farringer. The works on display for the coming year are: Caroline Bugby’s ‘Feast,’ Jodie Carlson’s ‘Waking Up’ and Terry Slade’s ‘Super Germ.’ The CCC is grateful to SAW and the participating artists for their generosity and willingness to share.
