Sip and Create at MCL
The Manchester Community Library’s new Create & Sip Sunday Series is for fun, informative and artistic fundraisers to benefit the Library. Stacy Gates of Create with Bogate will instruct participants step-by-step on creating their own an original works of art. Proceeds from the classes will be donated to the Library and used to expand the Library’s art programming. The classes will be held monthly on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Commons at the new library. The first class, ‘Pumpkin Patch,’ will be held on October 18; the second class, ‘Abstract Fall Trees,’ will be held on November 15. Details on the classes schedule for December 13 and January 10 will be shared soon. No prior painting experience is required. The goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere for people to have fun being creative. These classes will also provide a bit of history or knowledge about the subject being painted or an art concept being used than found in most paint and sip type classes. For example, during the Pumpkin Patch painting, participants will learn about composition and the rule of three in design. They will also learn some fun facts about pumpkins and the history of the jack o’ lantern. These classes are for ages 16 and older. All painting supplies and an apron will be provided by the instructor and the Library’s café will have bakery treats and non-alcoholic beverages available. The cost of each class is $35. For information on the classes, call Stacy Gates at 802-362-5608. To register, call MCL at 802-362-2607.
