Skating Registration at Riley Rink
Northshire Skating Academy’s Learn to Skate-USA 2018/19 season at Riley Rink begins this month. Registered students receive full membership to the Olympics-sanctioned program
endorsed by USA hockey, speed skating and figure skating. Membership includes additional insurance, badges, monthly magazine, a sticker book to monitor your child’s progress, online access and more. Semesters run seven weeks. Register on Sunday, October 21, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Riley Rink in Manchester. There will be a free Tot Class from 12 to 12:30 that day for kids not yet in kindergarten, skates included. The fall semester begins Wednesday, October 24, with after-school classes at 4, 4:30 and 5 p.m. On Thursday, October 25, morning classes are 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 28, classes are 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with a public session from 1 to 3 p.m. All lessons are 30 minutes, with 60 minutes of practice time; rental skates are included. Two new classes are ‘Learn to Speed Skate’ (no speed skates necessary) and ‘JISP Jumps,’ set on a first-come first-served basis (30 students maximum); a pass is required. The JISP program fee is $139 for an eight-week semester offering a 30-minute lesson and 75 minutes of free skate time. Sign up soon; after December 15, a $10 late fee will apply.
