J.K. Adams announces that local artist Seline Skoug will show some of her photographs in our exhibit space during the months of July and August. Skoug’s photographs are notable for their sensitive treatment of light and lyrical sense of humor. Her work will be available for sale; she will be donating ten percent of all sales to Meals on Wheels. The public is invited to an opening reception on the lower level of The Kitchen Store at J.K. Adams on Wednesday, July 8, at 5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Seline began shooting pictures as a young woman during her travels from Long Island Sound to Norway, the Adirondacks, Saint Croix and Vermont. Along the way, her work was shaped by her appreciation of the natural world and love of people and community. Her photograph, ‘Sunderland Farm’ was recognized by Horticulture Magazine in their annual photography competition. Skoug has exhibited at the Dorset Library, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center and the Landscapes for Landsake benefit exhibition supporting the Agriculture Stewardship Association.
A resident of Arlington, Skoug shares a design and consulting office with her husband Dave Van de Water. She is also a nurse at SVMC, an advanced EMT and vice president of the Arlington Rescue Squad, and chair of Meals on Wheels of Bennington County.
