Sky Blue Boys Open the Season on Tinmouth’s Old Firehouse Stage
Winter comes early up here in Tinmouth, so we open our fall season while it’s still the tag end of summer. The Sky Blue Boys – Banjo Dan and Willy Lindner – will bring Vermont bluegrass at its finest to the Firehouse stage on Saturday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m. They fill our modest house every time, delighting one of the most enthusiastic audiences around. The Sky Blue Boys, have revived the tradition of brothers duets, and have built up a large repertoire of wonderful old ballads, parlor songs, heart songs and sacred numbers. They have also expanded the accompaniment to include a variety of acoustic instruments and added many newer songs, including several of their own compositions.
Future concerts, to be announced, will be held on Fridays. The Old Firehouse is located at Mountain View Road and Route 140 in downtown Tinmouth. Doors will open at 7 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $10, 90 percent of which goes to the performers. Homemade desserts, coffee and tea will be available; donations for them will help support community activities. Call Jo Reynolds at 802-446-3457 for information.
