Smokey House Center will join nonprofits throughout Vermont to participate in Vermont Gives, the state’s third annual day of online giving, to be held on Thursday, May 17. Initiated by Common Good Vermont in collaboration with the Vermont Community Foundation and other local sponsors, the event raises awareness and funds for nonprofit organizations. All money raised here, stays here. Donations can be made at vermontgives.org. Smokey House Center hopes to raise $5,000 to support their Community Farm project, their day camp scholarship fund and other efforts serving the community. “Smokey House Center is inviting our neighbors to grow with us,” said executive director Jesse Pyles said. “We have a long history of meaningful work on this land, and we want to share this work with our community.” Smokey House Center is located at 426 Danby Mountain Road in Danby.
