Snowshoe Race Series to Begin
Nor’east Trail Runs, which hosts running events throughout Southern Vermont that provide opportunities for any runner to connect to both the state’s natural environment and their own athletic potential, has announced its 2019 lineup of races. “We were thrilled to introduce five new Vermont races last year, with over 200 runners from 20 states racing distances from 5k to over 160 miles,” said co-race director Eliza Hamm. “This year, we’re expanding our calendar to include a new snowshoe series, our shortest race yet – just one steep mile – and more to-be-announced events that offer runners more of what they love. We’re psyched to get more people out there in 2019, from first-time racers to elites looking for strong competition.” The inaugural Nor’easter Snowshoe Series, going through March will be held at the Viking Nordic Center in Londonderry. It kicks off on Friday, January 18, with a night race under the lights starting at 6:30 p.m. Start all seven for a chance to win prizes and drawings. The next event happens on Saturday, January 26, with 5 and 10k races beginning at 8 a.m. A full schedule of events and sign-up information is available at netrailruns.com.
