So. Vermont Arts and Craft Festival
The Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival is coming on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 1, 2 and 3. This is the former Hildene Show, which moved to Bennington in 2013 and is now part of Bennington Arts Weekend. One hundred fifty artists and artisans will display and sell their own handcrafted creations, rain or shine, in big tents on the lawns and pathways at Camelot Village, a multi-level barn full of antiques, collectibles and furniture. There is a lovely food court under the shade of tall maple trees with picnic tables. Food vendors will offer local farm-to-table fare: Vermont grilled cheese sandwiches, falafel, chicken wraps, vegetarian curry, steak sandwiches, Chinese dumplings, sesame noodles, Greek salad, sausage, pepper and onion sandwiches, French fries, espresso and lattes, lemonade, ice cream, hamburgers and hot dogs, lobster rolls and kettle corn.
Enjoy live music, including contra dancing on Saturday afternoon, Vermont craft beer on tap and a different musical act daily: Saints and Liars on Friday, Bob Stannard and Those Dangerous Bluesmen on Saturday and The Bondville Boys on Sunday. Comic juggler Jason Pipitone will provide the laughs with daily intermittent shows. Have the kids stop by the Vermont Arts Exchange Bus, and check out the Bennington Arts Weekend Tent to find out about all the great activities taking place throughout town. Camelot Village is located at 66 Colgate Heights, Bennington. For more information, visit craftproducers.com.
