Stories From The Farm
The Squier family, multi-generational farmers in Vermont, will headline ‘Stories From the Farm’ as part of the Root Words project,
an informal sharing of rural stories, from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, at the Old Firehouse in Tinmouth. Six generations of Squiers – if you count the children of farmers Josh and Meadow Squier –
have farmed in Vermont. Meadow’s grandfather, the late ‘Farmer John,’ was known for many years for his roadside vegetable operation in Rutland. Her father, Marshall, is planning to take part in the event. Refreshments and a viewing of the old farm implements stored near the Firehouse will complement the story-sharing.
Root Words is made possible with a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and is a collaboration of the Shrewsbury Agricultural Education and Arts Foundation and the Vermont Farmers Food Center.
