Streetfest Draws a Mix
Where will you find all-American classics side by side with a touch of Thai culture, a larger-than-life street performer and treasured handmade arts? The Hot Summer Night StreetFest, the second in a series this summer on Main Street in downtown Manchester, is the backdrop for a cultural and culinary celebration. With four bands on two stages, StreetFest, Friday, August 9, 6 to 10, is not to be missed.
A troupe of talented Thai dancers from New York City are set to perform their music and dance in full costume, throughout the evening.
While watching the dancers or listing to the sounds of jazz, rock or bluegrass, streetfest goers can be satiated with classic American fare. Say Cheese! will be serving up the tried-and-true grilled cheese sandwich and unusual combinations. The Manchester Fire Department will offer their tasty sausages, as a benefit for the department. And the Pink Boot Farm will be serving up wood-fired barbecue and favorite southern comfort food. Satisfy your thirst with a frosty one or a glass of wine from The Perfect Wife, or lemonade, served by the non-profit group, Unplugged.
StreetFest coincides with Manchester’s Annual Sidewalk Sales, a summer staple of the downtown. Artisans and specialty food producers will take to the street to display their wares. Live music will play from four different bands. This free event is perfect for the whole family, from the kids who will enjoy the face painting and antics of the street performers, to the audience wishing to listen to cool tunes on a summer night.
Special thanks to community businesses who have lent their support to the event. For more information, telephone 362-5333 or email email@example.com. Updates will be posted to the town of Manchester’s Facebook page. See you at the festival!
