Students at Grace Christian School raised money last year for the Ugandan Water Project (UWP), a nonprofit humanitarian organization that provides clean drinking water to people in Uganda. They decided to raise $3500 for a water tank after learning about the project from James Harrington, director of UWP. They raised $1000 in their own donations. “It was amazing to watch everyone from kindergarteners to seniors putting donations in,” said 6th Grade teacher, Shawn Smith, who helped spearhead the effort. A local business man stepped in to help, and as a result, their goal was met; a water tank was installed at a Christian school in Uganda. Find out more at ugandanwaterproject.com.
