Summer at The Fort
Fort Salem Theater in Salem, N.Y., has announced its 2018 season, beginning Saturday, June 16, with the Whiskey River Band, Mainstage, at 7 p.m. Their repertoire features classic country. Join them for some line dancing. Admission is $10. On Saturday, June 23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m., ‘Couples: A Cabaret.’ June 29 and 30 and July 7, 8, 20 and 21, ‘Our Time’ is a new comedy by Emmy Award-winner Ken Levine. July 1, Deborah Weiler celebrates Americana with patriotic and regional music. July 13 to 15, ‘Frank and Stein: a Karaoke Musical’ by Jay Kerr and television newsman Jerry Gretzinger is an homage to the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s novel, ‘Frankenstein.’ In ‘The Savannah Disputation, a comedy by Evan Smith, July 22, 27 and 28, two Catholic sisters find at their door an enthusiastic, charismatic Evangelical zealot who has come to save them. In ‘Chinese Coffee,’ a comedy by Ira Lewis on July 29, August 10, 17 and 18, a photographer and novelist in 1982 Greenwich Village verbally spar over their life choices.
August 11 is the date of the Farm-to- Table Dinner Theater Cabaret featuring Kelly Bird at Gardenworks Farm. The four-course dinner is followed by great jazz and pop song styling.
On August 12, ‘Riot With Three’ is not your grandparents’ chamber music. Piano, classical saxophone and voice. August 19 Kelly Bird performs cabaret.
