SVC Offers Talks & Festivities
The public is invited to Fall Fest at Southern Vermont College (SVC) from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 26. Part of Family Weekend on campus, the festivities will include food, live music, local artisans, tours; children’s games and for adults, tastings of regionally produced wines, beer and coffee. There will also be presentations, including ‘Local Culture, Global Impact: Can Vermont be a Model for the Future?’ with SVC president David Evans at 2:30 p.m.; ‘How Your Morning Cup of Joe Affects Our Local and Global Economy’ presented by Paul Lovegreen, owner of Tunnel City Coffee in Williamstown, Mass., at 3 p.m.; and ‘Vermont: the Napa Valley of Microbrewing’ with Peter Hopkins, co-owner of The Vermont Tasting Room in Pownal at 3:30 p.m. There will be two performances for children by The Puppet Brigade at 2 and 4 p.m. Soccer games will take place at Everett Field: the women’s team at 1 p.m., and the men’s at 3:30.
