Mother Myrick’s Confectionary is partnering with the Manchester Community Library and  the Northshire Bookstore to encourage and promote children’s reading over the summer. Each venue has a program to motivate kids to enjoy themselves when they read. Whether it’s tickets for winning baskets at the Library, claiming treats for books read or taking part in fun activities, there’s plenty of opportunity for reading! At Mother Myrick’s, there is a game board with directions to guide each reader; parents can bring in their children for a variety of rewards at different steps as they progress. Younger siblings are also encouraged to join in by having an adult read to them. It’s lots of fun and keeps reading skills sharp until school starts again. Students in kindergarten through grade six are invited to participate. Game boards can be picked up at Mother Myrick s Confectionery, the Library and the Bookstore. Call Jacki at 802-362-1560 or email jacki@mothermyricks.com to receive one.

Mother Myrick’s has been making artisan chocolates, cakes and confections since 1977 in its retail shop, and makes goodies available online at their website, mothermyricks.com.
