Tamarack Hollow to Lead Hike/Snowshoe Trek at Savoy

Explore Savoy State Forest, on Sunday, December 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with naturalist Aimee Gelinas M.Ed, founder of Tamarack Hollow Nature and Cultural Center in Windsor, Mass. We will trek up the Busby trail to see great views of the Mount Greylock range, see 19th century stone walls and intact cellar holes, and learn about winter ecology, evergreen trees and animal tracks. Participants should wear warm, layered clothing, sturdy, waterproof boots, nylon pants and bring snowshoes if needed. Discounted snowshoe rentals are available, email [email protected] to reserve your pair. In the event there is no snow, the excursion will be a hike. Directions are sent upon registration.
