Thurber Named Interim Director at Southwester VT Health Care
Southwestern Vermont Health Care (SVHC) has appointed Carson Thurber as interim director of development and the SVHC Foundation. Thurber has worked as a senior gift officer for the Foundation since 2015. “Carson is tremendously professional, dedicated, and enthusiastic in his efforts on behalf of the SVHC Foundation and its mission to support our health system,” said Leslie Keefe, vice president for corporate development. “We expect Carson’s leadership to be an asset as we continue the traditions of philanthropy and exceptional health care in southwestern Vermont.”
Thurber is a member of the Bennington Select Board and the Bennington County Chamber of Commerce. Before his work with SVHC, he was assistant headmaster at the Stratton Mountain School. In addition to his background in academic administration, he owns and manages a real estate holding company in southern Vermont.
“Over the past three years with the SVHC Foundation, I have been inspired by the outpouring of generous support for health care in our communities,” Thurber said. “I am proud to take on this new role with the aim of sharing SVHC’s impressive clinical achievements and expanding support for the good work happening here.”
