Tinmouth Firehouse to Stage Jenni Johnson & Jazz Junketeers
Jenni Johnson is a widely travelled jazz singer whose home and roots are in Vermont. She has performed the song Moonlight in Vermont in places such as Russia, Paris, Montreal – and at the Old Firehouse in Tinmouth. Her smooth voice is ideal for the American jazz classics, blues, swing and funk music she sings. Firehouse audiences have been excited many times by her unique style and versatile renditions. She’s had them smiling from their souls, while their feet danced happily to the beat. For her next appearance at the Old Firehouse on Friday, June 10, she’ll be backed by the Jazz Junketeers, a group of jazz-playing friends. Doors will open at 7 p.m. here is a suggested donation of $10 to $15, 90 percent of which goes to the performers. Ten percent goes to the town to maintain the building. Homemade desserts, coffee and tea will be available. Donations for them will help support community activities. This is the final spring concert; fall concerts will begin with the Plumb Bobs on September 9. The Old Firehouse is 200 feet south of the intersection at Route140 and Mountain View Road in downtown Tinmouth. For information, call Jo Reynolds at 802-446-3457.
