Flood Brook School to Host Luncheon for Seniors
On Thursday, November 17, Flood Brook School will host a Harvest Luncheon for local senior citizens at 12:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium. Middle school students will serve the meal, while students in grades K-2 will perform festive songs; students in grades 3 to 5 will contribute artwork for table decor. The menu will include Turkey Pot Pie, Mashed Potatoes (made from student grown and harvested potatoes from the Flood Brook Community garden) and vegetables. Dessert and coffee will be served as well. All local seniors are invited to attend. Parking will be available close to the building, on the east side of the gymnasium. Flood Brook School is located at 91 Route 11 in Londonderry.
The Dorset Seniors will meet at 12 noon on Thursday, November 17, for luncheon and a special holiday raffle. Reservations are required; call Dotty Streeter at 802-867-4442. The suggested donation is $3.50. All seniors are welcome. There will be no luncheon in December.
If you are 55 or over, the Northshire Seniors invites you to join them. This active group will be holding a free soup and sandwich lunch at 12 noon on Monday, November 21, at Saint Paul’s Church on Bonnet Street in Manchester. They will also be meeting on Thursday, December 15, for Christmas dinner at Ye Olde Tavern; sign up to join them by calling Sally at 802-375-9780. The cost is just $12, and there will be door prizes. There are plans in the works to travel to Proctor’s Theatre on March 8 to see ‘Wicked the Musical,’ and again in June for ‘Riverdance.’
