Vermont Open Studios
Marion Waldo McChesney and Erika Lawlor Schmidt invite you to their neighboring studios in Pawlet during the Vermont Craft Council open studio weekend on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. McChesney will feature her hand-made ceramicware at her Lilly Hill Road studio. Schmidt will feature mono prints from her jazz series and recent mixed media collage work at her Green Hill Road studio. Look for the yellow signs.
Stone Valley Arts, located at 145 East Main Street in Poultney, will also be open that weekend, offering an opening reception for the colorful ‘Peek’ Foliage Community Art Show on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., which will feature a performance at 4 p.m. by the Stone Valley Jazz Ensemble. Join Valerie Takvorian in her studio next to her home, a former little red schoolhouse, located at 401 Kansas Road in East Arlington, on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The artist’s paintings are lyrical expressions of the landscape and were recently exhibited at the Southern Vermont Art Center accompanied by the poetic impressions of local poet Mary Scriber.
