Vermont Vaudeville’s Variety Show, Coming to a Town Near You
If you haven’t heard of Vermont Vaudeville yet, chances are it won’t be long. The NEK-based company is touring all over Vermont this winter, funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and support from Vermont Public Radio. They’re bringing their cutting-edge variety entertainment to New England Youth Theater in Brattleboro on February 22 at 7 p.m.
Since 2009, Vermont Vaudeville has built a reputation for hilarious and spectacular variety entertainment, with sold-out weekend-long runs each spring and fall. Every performance features an eclectic blend of performing styles and skills. The intensity of live music, the spectacle of circus stunts, and the spontaneity of audience interaction deliver a feeling that no on-screen entertainment can match. Audience members report a post-show condition known as vaudeville face – painfully sore smiling muscles after every performance. The show at NEYT will feature the antics of local favorites Gould and Stearns and the yo-yo stunts of YoYoGuy, a four-time Guiness World Record holder who has performed with his yo-yo in over 25 countries.
In addition to Brattleboro, destinations include Barton, Plainfield, White River Junction, Bellows Falls, Middlebury, Bennington, Waitsfield, and Burlington. For tickets and information, visit VermontVaudeville.com or call 802-382-9222.
