Vets Visit Old Sturbridge Village for Free on Veterans Day
Old Sturbridge Village is offering free admission to veterans, active military personnel and their families (up to six people) on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11. Youngsters can learn to drill with the militia with toy muskets, and fife and drum musicians will perform throughout the day. See a timeline of military uniforms and weapons spanning 300 years of America’s martial history. Meet an 1812 surgeon from the U.S.S. Constitution, and hear what life and medicine were like 200 years ago in the nation’s fledgling navy.
Visitors who purchase a musket ball at the Museum Gift Shop may have the Village blacksmith stamp their initials at no additional cost. Veteran’s Day activities at OSV are sponsored by Walmart. For more information, visit osv.org or call 800-SEE-1830.
