Village Picture Shows to Host Environmental Film Festival

Village Picture Shows is preparing to host the inaugural Equinox Mountain Film Festival on September 21 and 22. The festival calls on both beginner and seasoned filmmakers to submit their short films to one of the two available categories. Category One will accept films with a minimum length of eight minutes and a maximum of 15, while Category Two is designed for shorter films, with a maximum of five minutes and no minimum. This grassroots-based film festival will be held in partnership with Ninth Wave Global in Manchester.

Michael Ellenbogen, director of the Cinema, explains: “Because Village Picture Shows was created as a place that doesn’t just spotlight big entertainment companies, it is only fitting that we participate in and are highly enthusiastic about projects like the Equinox Film Festival – which we hope will not only be greatly successful this year, but will also be around for many years to come.”

The deadline for submissions is July 31. All shortlisted applicants will be screened on the first day, and will receive passes to the event. Winner of Category One will received a cash prize of $750, and the winner of Catageory Two will receive $500; one winner will also receive the People’s Choice Award of $250.
