VNA & Hospice Earns Top Ratings
This January, the Visting Nurse Association and Hospice of the Southwest Region, which includes Rutland, Bennington and Dorset offices, received a four-star rating on a five-star scale in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ first patient experience star ratings, landing in the top 26% of home health agencies in the country to receive that score or better. The star rating measures and evaluates patients’ experiences with home health agencies and allows consumers to compare and choose among home health agencies. VNA and Hospice of the Southwest Region was also the first and only agency in Vermont to achieve a 4.5 star rating for ‘Quality of Patient Care,’ which is in the top eight percent nationally, and is higher than the national and state averages, which are 3.0 and 3.5 respectively. “I’m proud of our dedicated staff who are willing to go above and beyond for their patients. Delivering this level of home health and hospice requires compassion and we look forward to continuing to improve the quality home health care and hospice services we provide,” said Ron Cioffi, CEO of VNA and Hospice of the Southwest Region. This marks the first time that patients and their families can compare information on patient experiences of home health care agencies in care of patients; communication between providers and patients; specific care issues; and overall rating of care provided.
