VT Farm Viability Program, Agriculture Development Partner for Forestry
Business planning and technical assistance previously available to the agricultural sector is growing to include wood product and forestry industry businesses, to help forestry sector businesses increase profits, improve management, develop new value-added products and become more efficient.
Applications are now being accepted for businesses such as loggers, mills, kilns and wood product industries to receive business planning and technical assistance from the Vermont Farm Viability Program and the Vermont Agriculture Development Program.
A $100,000 grant from the Working Lands Enterprise Fund to the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board will support these new services. Participants will receive assistance with strategic planning, marketing, viability analysis, record-keeping, management, cash flow and more.
Interested food and forestry sector businesses can call 828-3370, or visit vhcb.org/viability/forestry for information or an application for both programs.
