There are a lot of reasons to visit the South Londonderry Free Library on Thompsonburg Road, but during the months of November and December, you can also see artist Diane Bell’s watercolor landscapes on exhibit. This Weston artist paints plein air during the summer when she’s not manning her home gallery, and then in her studio from her digital pictures.

Her paintings include familiar scenes around the area, including the West River Trail, Lowell Lake and Weston. Diane’s work is bold and colorful; she captures the interplay between light and shadow. Nearly every scene around the bend is a potential painting, which makes picture-making limitless here in New England.

Bell is a signature member of the Vermont Watercolor Society, an artist member of the Southern Vermont Art Center and one of the Vermont and Beyond artists in Weston. Her work is currently showing at the Bennington Center for the Arts and will be at VTica’s “Watercolor Out of Bounds” in late November. Visit dianebell.org to see more.
