Weston Community Potluck Supper

The Weston Community Association is hosting its annual supper at the Playhouse. All residents of Weston and its neighboring towns are invited. The event takes place in the lower level of the Weston Playhouse on Wednesday, November 20, at 6 p.m  Weston Playhouse, Weston, Vt. The Community Association will provide baked ham, cider, and coffee. Guests are asked to bring a main or side dish, a salad, rolls and butter, or a dessert to share, and additional beverages if they wish. Reservations are essential; please RSVP to Kim Dunda at 802-875-3047, or e-mail her at kddunda@yahoo.com no later than Sunday, November 17. She will need to know how many people will be in your party, and what food you will be contributing to the potluck table.

In the time-honored tradition of the event, guests are asked to bring their own plates and utensils, including any serving pieces necessary for their potluck offering.

In addition to spending an evening enjoying friends and neighbors, the following program items are on the agenda:

An update on repairs to the damage at Cold Spring Brook Park caused by Tropical Storm Irene. The task is not completed, but the cones are gone, and much work has been done to restore the character of this once-beautiful park and to protect it and the adjacent roadway from damage from future storms.

In recent years, at the Annual Meeting, the WCA has chosen to recognize the contributions made by an organization or individual to the greater Weston community. This year, the remarkable volunteer group Just Neighbors will be saluted for the many services they provide to disadvantaged families in our area.

The Weston Community Association is a non-profit, volunteer organization that has served the mountain communities for over 90 years. Its responsibilities include trusteeship of the Weston Playhouse, the Farrar-Mansur and Old Mill Museums and the Cold Spring Brook Park. Town-wide gatherings for a pig roast at Memorial Day and a Gypsy Reel concert on Labor Day are also sponsored by the WCA.
