Women’s Center Receives Grant
The Women’s Professional Development Center of Rutland was the recent recipient of a $2,500 grant from the Vermont Community Foundation’s Small and Inspiring grant program. The Center is dedicated to creating a healthy community with confident, creative and well-prepared women and girls at its core. The grant will help to further their efforts in providing local women with access to expertise in strategic planning, negotiation skills, operations and finance tools, techniques, tactics and team building. The Vermont Community Foundation is a family of hundreds of funds and foundations established by Vermonters that provides the advice, investment vehicles and back-office expertise to make giving easy and inspiring. Its funds and programs provide more than $12 million a year in grants and other investments. Through its Small and Inspiring grant program, the Community Foundation hopes to help foster the spark and hope that keeps Vermonters healthy and happy by finding and supporting projects in every town in Vermont where a small grant can make a big difference.
