Merck Forest and Farmland Center’s annual summer concert will be held on the deck of the Frank Hatch Sap House on Saturday, August 3, at 6 p.m. Admission is free. Concertgoers are encouraged to sit on the hillside opposite the Sap House. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs along with a picnic supper and beverages. The popular band Bob Amos and the Catamount Crossing return this year for their fourth appearance. Over the past five years, they’ve gained a reputation as one of New England’s hottest bluegrass bands. Members include Bob on banjo and vocals, Bob’s daughter Sarah Amos on vocals, Freeman Corey on fiddle, Steve Wright on guitar and vocals, Gary Darling on mandolin and Chris Cruger on bass. In the event of inclement weather the concert will move into the Sap House. Merck Farmland and Forest Center is located at 3270 Route 315 in Rupert.
