A Community Paddle, Fishing Clinic and BBQ on the Battenkill
Hollingsworth and Vose Company, (H&V) and Battenkill Conservancy (BkC) are hosting a community paddle, fishing clinic and barbecue on Wednesday, August 21, beginning at 10 a.m. Paddlers will put in at BkC’s Schmidt Meadow Preserve off Skellie Road in Jackson, N.Y., and paddle down river to the H&V Center Falls access site in Greenwich. A simultaneous fishing clinic will be offered for beginning anglers who want to try their luck in the Battenkill at the Center Falls site at 10 a.m. The event will wrap up with a free barbecue lunch at 12 noon. BkC’s Corridor Connection Project has been working to highlight and improve access sites along river. The Center Falls site owned by H&V is one of them, and this event is an opportunity for the two organizations to explain their work. H&V is a seventh generation family-run company and a global manufacturer of advanced materials used in filtration and energy storage. Employees will be on hand to answer questions on operations, the management of Battenkill resources and employment. For more information email [email protected] or call 518-677-2545.
