A Discussion on the Changing Face of the American Musical
Weston’s Steve Stettler leads an entertaining and informative session on the development of America’s unique contribution to the theatre, the musical. Green Mountain Academy for Lifelong Learning brings this exciting lecture to Manchester’s Burr and Burton Academy on Friday, March 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Following a brief history of the early days of operetta and the Golden Age of Rodgers and Hammerstein, we will look at the way subject matter, cast and orchestration, choreography and the book and score of musicals have evolved, with samples from contemporary classics.
