Area Arts Venues Offer Free, Discounted Student Admissions

Area Arts Venues Offer Free, Discounted Student Admissions

The Bennington Arts Summit has compiled a list of arts organizations that give student discounts. Many offer free admission. The Bennington Museum has no charge for students under 18; local college students are free with college ID. At the Bennington Center for the Arts, students 12 and under are free. Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester offers free admission to Yester House. The Williams College Museum, Williamstown, Mass., is free for all. Performances by Sage City Symphony at Bennington College are also free for all. Membership in the Bennington County Choral Society is free for student singers 15 and up. Bennington Contra Dances offers free admission for age 6 and under; 7 to 12 are $5, 13 and up are $10. The Vermont Arts Exchange has a student price of $10 for their concerts, with scholarships available. Oldcastle Theater charges $10 for students, and discounts on school groups. The UU Meetinghouse Cafe in Bennington charges $10 for students. Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, N.Y., charges students $15 and dress rehearsals are pay as you will. MASS MoCa in North Adams, Mass., is $10 for students with ID, kids 6 to 16 is $5, and kids under 5 are free. The Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, Mass., has free and discounted admission for students and children.

The committee hopes the community will take the opportunities these arts organizations provide. We believe the arts are an engine for enjoyment and economic development in Bennington, Vt.
