Audubon Talk & Walks to Focus on Spotting Fall Warblers

Joel Tilley from Rutland County Audubon will give a presentation on fall warblers at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, at the Poultney Public Library, located at 205 Main Street in Poultney. Warblers that can be seen during fall migration tend to be less vocal and colorful, so birdwatchers have to sharpen their identification skills. This free talk and some related walks throughout the Salte Valley Trails system in the following weeks will help. The tentative schedule is as follows; check rutlandcountyaudubon.org for details or possible changes. All walks will take place on Tuesdays starting at 7:30 a.m. with the first at Howe Hill on September 7; Fairgrounds West on September 10; the Poultney River Rail Trail on September 17; Fairgrounds East on September 24; Endless Brook on October 1; and Castleton University Trails on October 8.
