Award-Winning Mystery Writer to Appear in Bennington
Chris Knopf will appear at the Oldcastle Theatre on Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m., to discuss his recent novels, ‘Dead Anyway,’ and its sequel ‘Cries of the Lost.’ A 2013 recipient of the prestigious Nero Award for best American mystery, ‘Dead Anyway’ positioned Knopf among the ranks of such literary icons as Jeffrey Deaver, Dennis Lehane and Michael Connelly. Knopf’s eleven published mysteries have received exceptional accolades, with critics likening Sam Acquillo, the narrator of his five Hamptons-based novels, to Dashiell Hammett’s Sam Spade, Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlowe, and Robert Parker’s Spenser. Knopfs program will be followed by a reception with the author, and copies of his novels will be available for purchase. Tickets include a dessert reception catered by Pangaea Restaurant; a cash bar will be available. Seating is limited. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Bennington Free Library; call 802 442-9051 for information. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Library.
