Battenkill Conservancy Stargazing Hike and Bonfire

Show the Battenkill watershed some love by joining the Battenkill Conservancy and Salem Astronomy Club members in a post-Valentine’s Day Full Moon Stargazing Hike and Bonfire.  Members of the Astronomy Club will share their expertise in identifying winter constellations. Tiki torches placed along the wooded trails, together with the light of the full moon will guide skiers, snowshoers and hikers through the woods. Apple cider, hot chocolate and winter snacks will be offered around a roaring bonfire to complete the evening’s activities.

The event takes place at the home of Jan and Tom Wolski. It is open to both adults and children free of charge, although simple food or drink donations to share around the bonfire would be appreciated. Attendees should meet at 42 McMillan Road in Cambridge, N.Y. at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 15. For information on discounted equipment rentals, directions and to confirm attendance, email [email protected] The Battenkill Conservancy is an all volunteer, non profit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the Battenkill watershed through education, conservation, advocacy and the River Watch Program.
