BBA Student to Serve Up Chuckles in Support of Classmate’s Cause
On Friday, June 1, Burr and Burton Academy senior Koben Pottala plans to take to the stage to offer a ‘Night of Comedy’ to kick off the Be Brave for Life Foundation’s big fundraiser, ‘Rise to the Challenge.’ Doors to the event at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester will open at 6 p.m. Curtain time is 6:30. When BBA’s resident funny man decided to bestow his humor as a gift of laughter to benefit others, he thought of fellow student and Be Brave for Life founder, Riley Callen. Her efforts to raise funds for benign brain tumor research seemed the obvious choice as a benefactor. Koben debuted his comedy act at BBA’s New Works Project this winter, and viewers say he was hysterical. If you like to laugh, then this event is for you! Tickets will go on sale starting Tuesday, May 15, at bebrave.life, on a first-come, first-served basis. They are $10 for students, and $15 for adults. Merchandise, food and beverages will be for sale, as well, with all proceeds going towards Be Brave for Life.
