BBA Summer Field Hockey Camp Has International Flavor

Lucretia Johnson, BBA’s newly hired JV field hockey coach, will direct the Field Hockey Summer Camps at Burr and Burton Academy (BBA) in Manchester. The camps will run Monday to Friday, July 15 to 19. Athletes entering grades 8 to 12 will meet daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ($150 tuition). Those entering grades 3 to 7 will meet Monday through Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. and join the older group on Friday starting at 8:30 ($75 tuition). Johnson’s background includes playing the sport in her home country of Argentina as well as the U.S. She will be joined by her sister Vicky Cabut, winner of two gold medals and two silver medals at international competitons. She’s spent the last four years playing for a team in Spain and training with the Italian National Team. When she returns to Europe in August, she’ll be playing in Brussels, Belgium.

The field hockey community is very lucky to have both sisters on the coaching staff for these camps. Joining them will be former men’s National Team member and college coach Bill Davidson; goalkeeping specialist Amy Wright; BBA varsity coach Barb Miceli, named Coach of the Year; and Lynne Sanders, currently junior high coach at Manchester Elementary School.
