Bennington Goes to the Cats

Cattitude. That’s what we have in Bennington, Vermont this season. With all the Vermont Mountain Lion Sculptures on the streets and the “cubs” or Table Top School Cats on display in area businesses, Bennington has definitely gone to the cats. The Street Art Project organized by the Bennington Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the Catamount Prowl through the summer and fall of 2013, up until the Gala and Auction on October 26. You all know about “herding cats”. That is what we will be doing prior to the Gala where all the big and little catamounts will be brought together for the grand finale.

Until then, come to Bennington and get your map and Scavenger Hunt Instructions to go out and enjoy the artists’ creations, and while you are here you might take in a live performance downtown at the Old Castle Theatre, swim or canoe at Lake Shaftsbury, or enjoy a concert at the Bennington Center for the Arts or at Vermont Arts Exchange. Explore the Bennington Museum, shop at Bennington Potters and dine at any one of our chef-owned restaurants. Take in the Bennington Battle Day Parade and the Southern Vermont Garlic and Herb Festival. The Bennington Car Show and the Bennington Quilt Fest are inviting everyone to a Threads and Treads Weekend over September 14 and 15. So put on your “cattitude” and join the fun. Visit for details.
