The 21st annual Bennington QuiltFest is this Saturday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 14, from 9 a.m.  to 4 p.m. at the Mount Anthony Union Middle School, 747 East Road in Bennington, Vt. More than 120 quilts will be on display representing new, vintage and challenge quilts.

Members of the Quiet Valley Quilters will be demonstrating various quilting techniques and tips throughout the two-day event. There will also be a display of holiday quilted pieces, including a Christmas tree decorated with ‘Dear Jane’ quilt block ornaments and a tree skirt.  Winners of the People’s Choice Awards for Bed Quilts and Wall Hangings will be announced on Sunday at 3 p.m. The lucky ticket will also be drawn for the QVQ’s Quilt Raffle ‘Quiet Valley Spirit.’ Featured quilter Michele Scott will present a lecture both days.  There will be vendors, a consigment boutique, door prizes and food service.  Admission is $7.  Free parking is available.
