Berkshire County Arc Awards Scholarships to Area Students
Berkshire County Arc has awarded scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 to the following high school seniors who demonstrated outstanding prior involvement with individuals with disabilities, and the potential to contribute to the field of human services: Jennifer Evans of Monument Mountain Regional High School; Mia Bills of Mount Everettt Regional High School; Sienna Carpenter of Pittsfield High School; Lindsey Ford, MacKenzie Melski and Sienna Powers of Taconic High School; and Jackson Seifert of Hampshire Regional High School. Evans’ scholarship is the fourth annual Carol Craighead Memorial Scholarship Award, in memory of Carol Craighead, a Berkshire County Arc board member, volunteer and supporter for more than 40 years. An independent panel of community members consisting of Daniel Dillon, relationship development officer of Greylock Federal Credit Union, Shirley Edgerton of the Department of Developmental Services and June Hailer, advocate for United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County, selected the winners. Funds for the scholarships were raised through Berkshire County Arc’s Annual Golf Tournament.
