‘Black Comedy’ at Oldcastle Perfect for Families
Families are invited to come see the hilariously funny ‘Black Comedy’ at Bennington’s Oldcastle Theatre. Introduce the kids in your life to the fun of live theatre at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, when children 8 to 14 can get free admission with the purchase of a regular adult paid admission. Each additional child is just $5. Seating is limited and you do have to call the box office to get this special pricing at 802-447-0564. In the play’s one hilarious act, the lovesick Brindsley, a young sculptor, has embellished his apartment with furniture and objects d’art ‘borrowed’ from the absent antique dealer next door, hoping to impress his fiancee’s pompous father, a wealthy art dealer. The neighbor returns just as a blown fuse plunges the apartment into total darkness and Brindsley is revealed teetering on a the verge of a very ripe farce. Unexpected guests, aging spinsters, errant phone cords and other snares impede his increasingly frantic efforts to return the stolen items. The show runs through Sunday, September 6.
