Bloomsberry Fine Arts Festival
Middletown Springs will hold its second annual Bloomsberry Arts Festival on Sunday, August 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Middletown Springs Historical Society located at 10 Park Avenue. The event, which benefits the Middletown Spring Public Library, promises to be a festive celebration of flowers, blueberries and artistic and literary talents.
Local photographer Emmett Francois will present a slide show and exhibit of some of his best prints in ‘A Retrospective in Photography.’ Francois, a professional photographer for over 50 years, has taught fine art and communications photography at several noted institutions, including Green Mountain College.
Megan Mayhew Bergman, Vermont author, will read from her recent book, ‘Almost Famous Women,’ and will discuss the writing life. She is also the author of ‘Birds of a Lesser Paradise.’
The Historical Society dining room will be decorated by Winsome Moran and Amanda Carter with flowers donated by local gardeners, and blueberry desserts will be provided by our talented cooks. You are in for a treat at this lively evening, hosted by the Friends of the Middletown Springs Public Library. You don’t want to miss it! The cost is only $12, and includes dessert and beverage. The space is handicapped accessible. For more information, call Maureen McCormack at 802-235-1245.
