Cancer Center Community Crusaders Offer Compassion, More
Cancer Center Community Crusaders are a group of caring and compassionate women and men who are survivors of cancer, caregivers, family members, friends and co-workers of those who have been diagnosed with cancer. Money is raised by crews of the Community Crusaders through bake sales, tag sales, Chinese auctions, raffles and more, to benefit cancer patients being treated at the Southwestern Vemont Regional Cancer Center. Ten percent of the funds raised are allocated for cancer research. The rest helps provide patients with much-needed gas cards, grocery cards, fuel delivery, pre-chemo dental care and more. Beautiful quilts for patients have also been made by local quilters with funds provided by the Crusaders. It is a good reminder that as you battle cancer that some one cares. Consider becoming involved with the efforts of the Cancer Crusaders by starting a crew, joining an existing crew or helping out at the group’s Cabin Fever Dance in February or the Celebration of Life event in June.
