The third annual Southern Vermont Hot Dog Cook-Off will be held on the lawn behind the Stone Hearth Inn on Route 11 in Chester, Vt. on Sunday, August 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. This event is to benefit the Springfield Humane Society’s capital campaign, which is raising funds to renovate their building. Besides the creative preparations of hot dogs by 20 spirited chefs, both professional and amateur, there will be music provided by the Bondville Boys, emceeing by Big Lenny of Rutland, a silent auction and much more. Admission is $15 for adults over age 12 and $5 for children 5 to 12; children under 5 are free. It includes all the delectable hot dogs you can eat. A cash bar is available.

Vote on ‘Best in Show,’ which for the past two events has been won by Fiona Morton of Andover. The competition will be even tougher this year as she tries to three-peat. The cook-off will be held rain or shine.
