‘Dinner with the Smileys’

The week before Thanksgiving 2011, Dustin Smiley left for a year-long military deployment. Soon after, his son Ford, 11, invited Senator Susan Collins to fill his dad’s chair at dinner. So began ‘Dinner with the Smileys,’ nationally syndicated columnist Sarah Smiley’s 52-week commitment to fill her husband’s place at the family dinner table with interesting people and unique role models for her three sons.

On Saturday, September 20, at 7 p.m., you, too, are invited to ‘Dinner with the Smileys’ at The Perfect Wife Restaurant in Manchester, Vt. when Smiley presents her book. Tickets are available now at the Northshire Bookstore or online at northshire.com, and cost $45 per person, to include a family-style meal, coffee or tea and dessert, and one copy of ‘Dinner with the Smileys.’ For more information, call 802-362-2200 or visit northshire.com.
