Documentary on Itzhak Perlman
The Jewish Film Series at Israel Congregational of Manchester (ICM) will continue with the screening of ‘Itzhak,’ a fascinating and upbeat documentary that explores the life of violinist Itzhak Perlman, who went from the son of Polish refugees to polio survivor to the world’s concert stages. This music-filled production with actor Alan Alda and others illuminates Perlman’s story of triumph over adversity, including his struggles to be taken seriously as a music student when schools saw only his disability. The film will be shown at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 22, at Manchester Community Library. It is the second of four Jewish-themed films to be presented this summer by ICM. The Jewish Film Series is free and open to the public. Free-will donations are appreciated. For more information, call 802-362-4578.
