DTF Gala to Honor Tim Daly
Dorset Theatre Festival (DTF) is celebrating its 42nd season with the third annual Summer Stars Gala honoring Emmy-nominated actor Tim Daly. The Gala will take place at 6 p.m. on June 23 at the Old Gray Barn, located at 1582 Route 30 in Rupert, just two miles from the Dorset Village Green. Daly has starred in three DTF Main Stage productions since 2013, including his role alongside sister Tyne Daly in the world premiere of ‘Downstairs’ by Theresa Rebeck, which went Off-Broadway.
An actor, director, producer and philanthropist, Daly currently stars as Henry McCord in the hit CBS series Madam Secretary. He has appeared on the small screen on a number of critically acclaimed series, and received an Emmy Award nomination for outstanding guest actor in a Drama Series on HBO’s ‘The Sopranos.’ He served as executive producer on the Showtime feature ‘Execution of Justice,’ which garnered him a GLAAD Award, and produced the filmed ‘Edge of America,’ which opened the 2004 Sundance Film Festival and won the Humanitas Prize and the George Foster Peabody Award. His theater credits include roles in productions on Broadway, the Los Angeles Coast Playhouse, the Williamstown Theater Festival, and others.
Attendees will enjoy cocktails, a seated dinner and live auction with entertainment by Jamie Bernstein – who grew up in the ebullient household of her parents, composer-conductor Leonard Bernstein and pianist /actress Felicia Montealegre – and Michael Boriskin, who has performed in over 30 countries with leading orchestras and chamber ensembles.
There is also an online auction in conjunction with the Gala offering items such as tickets to a Red Sox game, dinner reservations at famous New York eatery, an inclusive luxury stay and golf weekend at Cave Creek in Arizona, a week at a private home on Nantucket Island and more.
