Dorset Theatre Festival will stage ‘Katie Forgette’s Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily,’ a delightfully funny and exciting take on the famous detective story, weaving threads of history and literature to include the great Sherlock Holmes, trusted friend Watson, sinister Moriarty, glamorous Lillie Langtry and even Oscar Wilde. Directed by Margarett Perry, it will run from Tuesday, July 9, to Thursday, July 25.
Playing Holmes will be Kirk Jackson, last seen at DTF in ‘Deathtrap.’ Watson will be played by Christopher Edwards, who has performed across the US and internationally. Lillie Langtry will be played by Jennifer Rohn, who has appeared in a number of productions at DTF and on Broadway. Oliver Wadsworth, who portrays Oscar Wilde, will be familiar to local audiences for his performances in DTF’s ‘Noises Off’ and ‘Murder on the Nile.’ Brian Dykstra, a DTF favorite for his role in ‘Good People,’ will play the devious Moriarty. He recently appeared on Broadway opposite Tom Hanks in ‘Lucky Guy.’ Also starring: Carlos Dengler and Dana Berger.
