Event to Highlight B-Corporations: Doing Business for Good

Learn how you can B-the-Change on Saturday, July 13, from 12 to 3 p.m. An outdoor celebration featuring companies that do business for good will be held in the Eileen Fisher courtyard at 35 Depot Street in Manchester Center will offer treats from many B-Corporations including Cabot Cheese, King Arthur Flour, Seventh Generation, Badger Balm, Stoneyfield, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Ben & Jerry’s, and Vermont Creamery. Learn what it means to be a B-Corporation and why it’s important as a consumer to support B-Corps, which are redefining what it means to be a success in business; it’s doing well by doing good. Currently there are more than 2,788 B-Corps in more than 64 countries. In Vermont alone there are more than 30. The goal is to educate consumers on the importance of supporting companies dedicated to environmental protection and social change. ‘B-the Change’ by practicing conscious consumption. Rebecca Kline Coffey of Social and Environmental Impact Consultants will be on site to explain the process and the benefits of becoming a B-Corp to any interested business owners.
